Paving the Sky

It was a modern compulsion to pave over a chaotic, untamed earth making it suitable for habitation. This fascination reached a zenith in Disney's Magic Highway USA (1958) where a futuristic machine defies physics to pave the sky itself leaving a ceramic-concrete bridge behind.
