The Military Origins of Nelson Bubble Lamps (1952)

George Nelson wanted a modern Swedish lamp made of silk but found it too expensive to buy or produce. Learning that military ships were put into storage covered by a spray-on plastic, Nelson adopted the process for his famous lamps. Beautiful, but in practice, somewhat hard to clean!
