The Man from Mars is perhaps Frank R. Paul's most well-known design. Based on logical inference, the Martian has a "natural telepathic antenna" on his head for "extra sensory communication," as well as "shell shaped ears to catch sound waves in Mars' rarefied atmosphere." The huge lungs provide "sufficient oxygen for a large body" while suction cup feet help him to negotiate Mars' lesser gravity. The Martian is highly intelligent and holds an atomic weapon "utilizing advanced atomic science of the power in the atom." Links to Fantastic Adventures, May 1939.
