Headphone Bleed in Christina Aguilera's Beautiful

When recording Beautiful (2002), some of the headphone guide track accidentally bled into Aguilera's mic. "Most engineers would have removed it and taken some of the personality away," said recording engineer Dave Pensado. But Pensado felt that it was important to leave the imperfect track as it was. "To me the bleed at the end was honest... When I took it out, I missed it. It sounded too clean and contrived."
