In Frida Kahlo's diary-notebooks, images bleed through from one page to the next. These trace markings create a sense of continuity as the work from one day becomes the faint reverse background of another. The left page above reads, in part, "ourselves - variety of the one incapable of escaping to the two - to the three - to the usual - to return to the one." The right page reads, "Sleep, Sleep, Sleep, Sleep, Sleep, Sleep, I'm falling asleep."
